Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Adam Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johann Bruno! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruno tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Bruno moves to clinch but Jones breaks away and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Johann Bruno has been cut. Bruno tries to clinch but Jones moves away and Jones counters with a right hand that sends Bruno tumbling to the canvas! Can Jones finish him? He dives into Bruno's guard looking to do just that!
Bruno is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones landing with the ground and pound. Bruno is still in real trouble! Can Jones finish him? Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. Bruno seems to have recovered his senses. Jones controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Jones landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Jones lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Bruno is trying to escape the position but Jones is controlling the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Adam Jones wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Bruno closes the distance looking to clinch and Jones counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Bruno ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away. Johann Bruno is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones tests Bruno's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Bruno tries to clinch and Jones counters with a right hand that sends Bruno tumbling to the canvas! Can Jones finish him? He dives into Bruno's guard looking to do just that!
That has opened up Johann Bruno's cut even more. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones throws a big elbow that misses. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bruno can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bruno fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bruno closes the distance looking to clinch and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bruno tries to clinch up and Jones counters with a beautiful punch that sends Bruno to the canvas! Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Jones stops Bruno from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Jones dominated that round. The cut man is working on Johann Bruno's cut. That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt and Jones counters with a takedown into side control. Jones working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Bruno takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Bruno is trying to get back to his feet. Jones throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Bruno is trying to get back to his feet. Jones working the head with strikes. Bruno being controlled for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Jones working the ground and pound but Bruno is defending the strikes. Jones content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Adam Jones. Jones dives in and grabs Bruno's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bruno pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruno is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Bruno closes the distance but Jones moves to the side and Jones counters with a left to the body. Bruno misses with the body kick enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. Bruno tries to clinch up and Jones makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Bruno is breathing heavily. Bruno tries to clinch up and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bruno connects with a leg kick. Jones looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Bruno throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily. Bruno wants to clinch but Jones slips to the side and Jones counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bruno's knee momentarily. Jones waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Bruno. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Bruno to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
The cut above Johann Bruno's eye is starting to cause him problems now. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bruno throws a lazy head kick and Jones counters with a leg kick. Bruno tries to clinch but Jones moves away and Jones counters with a lovely shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Jones dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Johann Bruno's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Bruno is looking to escape. Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's one minute gone in the round. Crunch! Jones slams his shin into Bruno's torso. Bruno wants to clinch and Jones rattles Bruno with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Bruno tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Jones dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Bruno stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Adam Jones! During a confident post fight interview, Adam Jones thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
