PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julius Peppers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Itor Lamope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Peppers might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Day N Nite-Kid Cudi. Lamope has chosen Bulletproof as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peppers loads up on a big right hand but Lamope slips the punch.
Lamope connects with a nice looking jab.
Lamope lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Peppers thows a left - swing and a miss!
Peppers scores with a nice head shot.
Lamope stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Lamope has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Peppers.

Peppers shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lamope connects with a nice short shot to Peppers's temple.

Lamope has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Demon's stand up gym, LOP. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lamope looking to control but Peppers is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lamope lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Lamope is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Peppers can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Lamope takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lamope can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Peppers is looking to escape.
Peppers is desperately trying to improve his position but Lamope has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lamope lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lamope bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Peppers's head.

Peppers walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Peppers.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lamope, as that shot connected.

Good leg kick by Lamope there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Peppers looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

and Lamope counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Peppers! He's just covering up as Lamope starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
