0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Balboa! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Bowlsby. Balboa lands a jab to the head.
Balboa tries a head kick but it misses.
Bowlsby moves out of range as Balboa throws a body kick.
Balboa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bowlsby fails to land with a series of punches.
Balboa has taken the fight to the clinch.
Balboa jumps guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Balboa pulls Bowlsby in close to prevent any damage. Balboa keeping moving, preventing Bowlsby from controlling successfully.

We're going to have a standup here because Bobby Bowlsby wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Bowlsby tries to bum rush Balboa with a series of wild strikes but Balboa uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Balboa blocks a jab. Bowlsby misses with a wild body shot. Balboa clinches with his opponent.
Bowlsby is trying to break the clinch but Balboa is controlling him. Bowlsby is trying to break the clinch but Balboa is controlling him. and Balboa moves into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Balboa's face as he tries to break the clinch. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Balboa. Bowlsby wants to break free but Balboa has control.
Balboa goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bowlsby prevents it.
Bobby Bowlsby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Balboa. Bowlsby can't break the clinch.
Balboa decides to pull guard. Bowlsby throws a big elbow that misses. Balboa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bowlsby gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Balboa pushes Bowlsby off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bowlsby pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Balboa dives in and grabs Bowlsby's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bowlsby pushes down on Balboa's head and hops out. Balboa fails with a takedown attempt. Bowlsby misses with a hook. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bowlsby lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Balboa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Balboa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Bowlsby stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bowlsby wants it to stay on the feet. Bowlsby scores with a decent looking hook. Balboa clinches with his opponent.
Balboa has Bowlsby pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bowlsby manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Balboa is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Balboa is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bowlsby to keep the fight standing. A short uppercut from Balboa. Balboa is trying to drag Bowlsby to the mat but Bowlsby just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Balboa looks winded! Bowlsby tries to break free but Balboa pushes him back against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bowlsby has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Balboa displaying some good clinch control by pressing Bowlsby up against the cage. Bowlsby wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Balboa has him pressed against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Balboa dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Balboa takes one to the side of the head.
Balboa throws a head kick that misses. Bowlsby looks to land a right hand but Balboa moved out of range. Balboa misses with a double jab.
Balboa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bowlsby scores with a jab. Balboa clinches up against the cage. Bowlsby is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Balboa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bowlsby smiles and moves away.
Balboa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bowlsby finds it's way round the side to connect with Balboa's head. Balboa takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Rocky Balboa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's one minute gone in the round. A slow jab from Bowlsby misses its intended target. Rocky Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Balboa closes the distance and clinches. Balboa has Bowlsby pressed against the cage, preventing Bowlsby from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Balboa lands with a short shot to the head. A bit of stalling here from Balboa.
Balboa changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bowlsby fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Balboa moves out of range of the strikes. Balboa shoots in but no luck this time. A shot to the body from Bowlsby misses and Balboa counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Balboa. Bowlsby escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bowlsby throws a leg kick but Balboa checks it. Balboa throws a sloppy head kick and Bowlsby counters with a left and a right that stings Balboa. Balboa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Balboa is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bowlsby fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Balboa manages to avoid it. Bobby Bowlsby is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Balboa tries to clinch there but Bowlsby circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Balboa.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bowlsby lands a head shot. Balboa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bowlsby circles away quickly and effectively. Balboa takes a body punch but keeps moving. Bowlsby throws a right and a left that Balboa avoids nicely. Bowlsby dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nice jab there from Bowlsby. Bowlsby looks to score with a jab to the body but Balboa is just out of range. A bone on bone clash there as Balboa blocks the leg kick.
Balboa dives in and grabs Bowlsby's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bowlsby pushes down on Balboa's head and hops out. Bowlsby throws a hook but Balboa blocks it. Balboa dodges the punch combination from Bowlsby.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bowlsby lands a jab. Balboa shoots for a takedown but Bowlsby saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bowlsby throws a big shot that misses. Balboa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Balboa dives in and grabs Bowlsby's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bowlsby pushes down on Balboa's head and hops out. Balboa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bowlsby sprawls well. Bowlsby wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Balboa gets slowly back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Balboa keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Balboa moves away from the strike by Bowlsby. A jab lands there for Bowlsby. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A jab from Bowlsby finds it's way through Balboa's defenses. Balboa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bowlsby's waist but Bowlsby gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Balboa off to one side. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bowlsby takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Bowlsby misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
