Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dan Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Lyles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Hardy could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Eric Lyles's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Hardy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric Lyles! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Lyles. Hardy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Lyles's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hardy under the eye. Lyles throws a sloppy head kick and Hardy moves out of range easily. Hardy shoots in for a takedown but Lyles shows good takedown defense. Lyles tries a head kick but it misses.
Hardy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hardy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lyles defends it nicely. Hardy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lyles sprawls well initially but Hardy persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Hardy stalling. Hardy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hardy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
We're going to have a standup here because Dan Hardy wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Lyles tries a head kick but it misses.
Hardy dodges the punch combination from Lyles.
Hardy throws a right hand that Lyles ducks under and follows up with a left that Lyles also avoids with ease. Hardy avoids the head kick by Lyles.
Hardy dives in for a single leg takedown but Lyles sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Hardy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lyles wants to get back to striking at distance but Hardy won't allow it.
A frustrated look appears on Lyles's face as he tries to break the clinch. Lyles tries to break the clinch but Hardy is controlling the position. Lyles tries to circle away but Hardy has him pinned against the cage. Hardy prevents Lyles from breaking the clinch. Lyles blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hardy pulls guard. Hardy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hardy seems to be working for a kimura but Lyles defends the submission attempt. Hardy is nestled in close to Lyles, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hardy wants to get back to his feet.
Lyles tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Hardy manages to move to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lyles is trying to stand. Lyles looks winded! Hardy content just to control the position here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hardy throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Hardy dominated that round. That's time! Hardy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hardy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lyles paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lyles stuffs the takedown attempt from Hardy. Hardy gets slowly back to his feet. Lyles misses with a low kick as Hardy jumps back. Hardy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hardy misses with the ground and pound. The referee asks Hardy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hardy prefers to stall for the moment though.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dan Hardy just wasn't active enough. Hardy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lyles to the ground. Hardy is now in Lyles's guard. Hardy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lyles is proving hard to escape from. Hardy stands and throws Lyles's legs to the side, diving into side control. Lyles is trying to buck Hardy off. Lyles is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Hardy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hardy prefers to stall for the moment though. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Lyles taking punishment in the form of punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hardy moves into full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hardy working for a guillotine from mount but Lyles is in no mood to give up. Hardy looking to isolate an arm here. Lyles doesn't see it coming and as Hardy extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Hardy!
