Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Grimly Fiendish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romano Schoots (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grimly Fiendish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Romano Schoots! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fiendish gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Schoots to score an easy takedown into full guard. Schoots throws a big right hand that misses. Fiendish might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Fiendish is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fiendish is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at CW's Elite Kung-Fu Academy that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Schoots controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We're going to have a standup here because Grimly Fiendish wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Schoots lands with a hook. Fiendish tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Schoots as Fiendish shoots in. Romano Schoots seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fiendish lands with an overhand left. Schoots throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fiendish sees it coming and avoids it easily. Schoots misses with a low kick.

It looks like Grimly Fiendish has been cut. Fiendish's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Schoots shoots in and drives through. Fiendish sprawls well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fiendish looking to slow down the pace here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fiendish is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Schoots gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Fiendish tries to score a body lock takedown but Schoots shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Schoots is pushing Fiendish up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Romano Schoots dominated that round. The cut man is working on Grimly Fiendish's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Fiendish stuffs the takedown. Schoots throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Schoots scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Schoots lunges at Fiendish with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Fiendish's hand. Schoots shoots in for a double leg but Fiendish sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's one minute gone in the round. A leg kick checked by Fiendish. Fiendish throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Schoots is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Schoots takes a swing at Fiendish's ribcage but misses. Nice defenses there by Fiendish. Fiendish takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Schoots tries to close the distance and clinch but Fiendish swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A punch lands to the side of Fiendish 's head but he takes it in his stride. Schoots throws a low kick but Fiendish avoids it. A jab from Schoots misses. Schoots swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fiendish counters with a nice uppercut. Schoots works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Fiendish slips a jab and a cross from Schoots.

Fiendish thows a left - swing and a miss! Schoots thuds a left hand into Fiendish's body. Schoots shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Fiendish cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Schoots throws a hook to the side of Fiendish's head but Fiendish sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Schoots throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Fiendish takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Schoots misses with a body shot.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Schoots cracks Fiendish with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Schoots has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Schoots tests Fiendish's chin there with a solid looking shot. Schoots tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fiendish paws at him with a jab and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Romano Schoots showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Grimly Fiendish's cut. That's time! Fiendish's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That could be painful for both fighters. Fiendish throws a right hand that Schoots ducks under and follows up with a left that Schoots also avoids with ease. Schoots throws out a loose jab but Fiendish uses good head movement to avoid it. Fiendish looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Romano Schoots seems to be getting the better of the standup. Schoots fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fiendish manages to avoid it. Fiendish throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Schoots tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fiendish is in Schoots's guard. Fiendish postures up in Schoots's guard and throws a big left but Schoots blocks it. Fiendish advances position into side control!

Fiendish wants to control but Schoots is keeping him busy. Fiendish is trying to ground and pound but Schoots uses the momentary lack of control by Fiendish to regain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fiendish is keen to just control but Schoots is a slippery customer. Schoots regains full guard. Nicely done.

Schoots throws a right and a left that Fiendish avoids nicely. Schoots scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fiendish doesn't seem bothered though. Fiendish walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Fiendish uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Schoots. Schoots moves in looking to clinch but Fiendish pushes him off. Schoots gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A quick uppercut on the inside from Fiendish. Fiendish is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Schoots has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile. Schoots is pressed up against the cage. Fiendish has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Schoots down to the mat. Schoots avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Romano Schoots. Well Schoots has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
