Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jong stuffs the takedown attempt from Mendak. Mendak gets slowly back to his feet.

Mendak shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jong pinned against the cage. Jong gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jong Jong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cacper Mendak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jong working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Mendak manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Mendak is looking for a kimura but Jong is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mendak to get the leverage.

Mendak throws a big elbow that misses.

Mendak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jong swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jong escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mendak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mendak has gone for a leg lock! Jong slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mendak's guard.
Mendak has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jong is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mendak.
Jong tries for a kimura but Mendak is defending well.
Mendak is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Mendak is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jong's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jong's back!

Jong is really stuck here.
Jong is having to fend off submission attempts from Mendak, who is looking to sink in the choke. Mendak doesn't have the hooks in though and Jong manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jong is posturing up here but Mendak has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Jong tries to roll out but it's too tight and Jong has to tap! Slick submission there by Mendak!
