Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abdoul Murquite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Leduc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murquite comes to the cage accompanied by Não Posso Mais. Leduc has chosen Balls to the Wall as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Abdoul Murquite! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Leduc! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murquite chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Murquite has his takedown stuffed enabling Leduc to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Abdoul Murquite has been cut. A telegraphed right hand from Leduc misses the target. Murquite wants to slow Leduc down by chopping away at his legs. Murquite fails with a takedown attempt. Murquite fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Leduc, pushing him back against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Leduc. Leduc has a couple of punches blocked by Murquite.
Murquite has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Leduc after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdoul Murquite. That's going to take a lot out of him. Murquite has Leduc pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Leduc manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. A short right from Leduc on the inside. Leduc swings wildly with an uppercut but Murquite uses good head movement to avoid it. Leduc swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Murquite has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Leduc regains guard immediately. Leduc tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murquite trying to control but Leduc is working from the bottom. Leduc utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Leduc looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Leduc wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Murquite stopping the sweep attempt from Leduc. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Murquite looking to pass the guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Murquite is looking to chop away at Leduc's legs. Murquite gets caught flat footed, as Leduc shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Leduc looking to pass the guard. Leduc must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Leduc trying to control but Murquite is working from the bottom. Murquite wants to control the position but Leduc says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Leduc thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Murquite's head. Murquite gets full guard. Leduc really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murquite. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Murquite is trying to keep Leduc in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Murquite has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Leduc can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Murquite controlling Leduc's posture.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Murquite had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Leduc defends it easily. Murquite working a defensive guard here.
Murquite bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Leduc's guard. Leduc looking for a sweep. Not yet Leduc, not yet. Murquite is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Leduc is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Leduc has escaped and now he's on top!

Murquite feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Leduc looking to hit a scissor sweep but Murquite is one step ahead there. Leduc manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Murquite tries to get back to half guard but can't. Murquite is working hard here to advance position. Leduc lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round. Murquite wants to sweep but no luck. Leduc lands a couple of elbows. Murquite manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Leduc manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Murquite gets the takedown into side control. Leduc is looking for a sweep. We've been hearing good reports from Murquite's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Leduc is trying to control Murquite's posture but Murquite avoids it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Murquite lets go of the hold and Leduc can pop his arm back in it's socket.
