Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wess Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milo Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wess Cross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Milo Douglas! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cross leaves Douglas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Cross lands a left and a right that send Douglas crashing to the mat, dazed. Cross thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Milo Douglas has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Cross closes the distance and clinches up with Douglas, looking for a takedown. Cross pushes Douglas against the cage but Douglas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Douglas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cross. Nice sprawl there from Cross as Douglas shoots in. Cross misses the shot to the body. Douglas scores with a takedown into Cross's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Cross working for a triangle but Douglas defends it easily.
Douglas lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Douglas trying to control the position from guard on top but Cross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Douglas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Douglas stands up and waves to Cross to follow him. Cross loads up on a big right hand but Douglas slips the punch. Cross shoots in for a double leg but Douglas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Douglas scores with a takedown into Cross's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Douglas postures up and lands a big shot to Cross's brow. Douglas passes easily into side control. Nice work. Cross tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Douglas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Douglas lands a decent elbow from side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cross is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Douglas has just dragged him back down to the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Douglas in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Cross takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Douglas landing a few strikes. Cross takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Douglas connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cross some visible discomfort.
Douglas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cross has escaped the position, nice work there. Douglas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cross to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Douglas slips a straight right by Cross. Douglas looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Douglas is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Douglas trying to control but Cross is working from the bottom. Douglas stands up from guard. Let's bang! Cross swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cross misses with a series of wild punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Douglas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cross's waist but Cross gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Douglas off to one side. Wess Cross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Milo Douglas. A right-left combo lands from Cross. We've been informed that Douglas has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Cross fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Douglas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. This has been an exciting period of action! Douglas takes a body punch but keeps moving. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! No luck for Cross with that takedown attempt. Cross misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Milo Douglas will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Milo Douglas's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Cross wants to clinch but Douglas slips to the side and Douglas counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Douglas. Douglas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Douglas connects with a couple of short punches. Douglas makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Douglas is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Cross has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Douglas is looking to defend but Cross has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Douglas! Cross pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Douglas taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Wess Cross!
