Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Gatsby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gatsby's hands.
Gatsby gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gracie.
Gatsby avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gracie misses with a two punch combination.

Gatsby moves into range and clinches up with Gracie.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Gatsby pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gatsby pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gracie is out of range and Gatsby settles back down.
Gracie will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Good leg kick by Gatsby there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gatsby seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gatsby is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close second round but I would say that Antonio Gracie will probably get the nod.
