The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitt blocks a jab.
Ferrari shoots in for a takedown but Pitt shows good takedown defense.

Ferrari gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Pitt regains guard.
Ferrari throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pitt works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Pitt shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Pitt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pitt needs to keep his hands up - Ferrari had a free shot at his head there.

Pitt moves into range and clinches up with Ferrari.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Pitt creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Ferrari has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Pitt clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Even with his hooks in, Ferrari manages to miss with strikes from the back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pitt staying busy and making it hard for Ferrari to control.

Well, with Ferrari on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Pitt is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Ferrari is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Pitt defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Ferrari's arms.

Pitt is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Ferrari gets his way!

Ferrari has got his arm under Pitt's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Pitt has spun round into Ferrari's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Ferrari wants to sweep here but Pitt controlling him for the moment.

Ferrari is looking to cinch up a triangle. Pitt throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Ferrari's body to avoid the submission. Ferrari has instead reached around Pitt's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ferrari arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

A relieved looking Ferdinando Ferrari thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
