Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
24 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dallas Riley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Tenorio!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley throws a sloppy head kick and Tenorio moves out of range easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Riley.
Tenorio swats away the attempt to clinch by Riley.
Riley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Riley gets tackled into the cage by Tenorio. Tenorio maintains the clinch.
Tenorio breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Riley feints and as Tenorio raises his hands in defense, Riley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Riley won't allow Tenorio to get back to his feet.
Riley is standing up over Tenorio. Tenorio looks to escape but Riley dives into side control.
Riley prevents Tenorio from escaping the position.
Riley tries to advance to mount but Tenorio denies him.
Tenorio tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Riley get's back to his feet.
Riley doesn't manage to clinch there - Tenorio circles away.
Riley moves into the clinch.
Tenorio can't break the clinch.
Tenorio breaks the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tenorio looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Claudio Tenorio is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Riley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tenorio counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Riley fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tenorio to the ground. Riley is now in Tenorio's guard.
Riley won't allow Tenorio to get back to his feet.
Riley trying to control the position from guard on top but Tenorio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
This has been an exciting period of action!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Riley slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dallas Riley has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Tenorio tries to clinch but Riley moves out of range.
Tenorio moves into the clinch successfully.
Tenorio has had enough of the clinch but Riley keeps him there for the moment.
Riley is trying to pull guard but Tenorio has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dallas Riley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tenorio breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Riley tries to clinch but Tenorio moves out of range.
Horrible takedown by Riley or perhaps it was just good defense by Tenorio which made him look bad.
Riley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tenorio's waist but Tenorio gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Riley off to one side.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Riley tries for a takedown but Tenorio circles away easily
and Tenorio counters with a big right hand! Oh Riley is in trouble here! Tenorio follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Claudio Tenorio!
A very excited looking Claudio Tenorio made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
