Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thors Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Frederick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thors Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frederick is looking to clinch but Hammer is avoiding it.
Hammer throws a low kick, looking for Frederick's leg but Frederick calmly moves out of range.
Frederick is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Paul Frederick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hammer enables Frederick to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hammer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Frederick trying to control but Hammer is working from the bottom.
Hammer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Frederick throws a big elbow that misses.
Frederick looking to pass the guard.
Frederick in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Frederick wants to control from the top but Hammer keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Paul Frederick.
Frederick tries to clinch but Hammer moves out of range.
Hammer drops his hands momentarily and Frederick takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Frederick gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hammer counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frederick is trying to stand back up but Hammer is controlling him
Hammer passes the guard and advances to mount!
Hammer is landing with some decent strikes but Frederick is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hammer putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Frederick in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Frederick is desperately trying to improve his position but Hammer has a good base and remains in mount.
Hammer scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Frederick?
Hammer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Frederick is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hammer cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frederick in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Hammer controlling the position easily from mount.
Hammer with shots to the head and body - Frederick looks very uncomfortable down there.
Hammer connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hammer content just to control the position here.
Hammer is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Frederick can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Hammer avoids the attempt from Frederick to control.
Hammer breaks from Frederick's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hammer with shots to the head and body - Frederick looks very uncomfortable down there.
Hammer raining down shots from the mount!


Frederick is rocked!
Frederick has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Hammer wants to finish this one by submission but Frederick is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hammer.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hammer swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Frederick is now in Hammer's guard. A big mistake from Hammer there, giving up the dominant position!
Frederick has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hammer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frederick's guard.
Hammer pushing down on Frederick's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Frederick is not content to let Hammer control the position.
Frederick is in trouble now - Hammer has advanced to mount!
Hammer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Oh Frederick is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!


It looks like Paul Frederick has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hammer postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Frederick is out cold - huge knockout for Hammer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Thors Hammer!
