The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guyjin closes the distance and clinches up with Williams, looking for a takedown. Guyjin pushes Williams against the cage but Williams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Guyjin tries to clinch up but Williams circles away and keeps his distance. Guyjin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Guyjin shoots in but Williams avoids the takedown attempt easily. Paul Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yukata Guyjin. Williams fails to land with a series of punches.
Williams lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Horrible takedown by Guyjin or perhaps it was just good defense by Williams which made him look bad. Guyjin checks a leg kick nicely. Jab, jab by Williams - just one landing. Williams connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Guyjin looks gassed! Williams connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Guyjin tumbling to the canvas! Williams pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Guyjin was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Paul Williams! Paul Williams retains his bantamweight title!
