Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cevada Bacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 26 - 0, fighting out of London, John Flare!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Cevada Bacon!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bacon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Flare sprawls well initially but Bacon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bacon is looking to advance position but Flare won't allow it.
Bacon trying to control the pace.
Flare could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Flare trying to control from the bottom.

Flare looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Bacon decides to stand up.
Bacon shoots in but Flare avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bacon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bacon drives through with a takedown into Flare's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Flare looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bacon is one step ahead there.
Flare is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Flare has a closed guard, preventing Bacon from standing up.
Flare can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bacon controls the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bacon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Flare shoots in looking for a takedown but Bacon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Flare's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bacon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bacon showed some decent athleticism there.

Still in half guard, Bacon seems content to control.
Bacon's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Let's hope that Bacon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Cevada Bacon has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Flare enables Bacon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Flare manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Flare is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bacon is controlling him.
Bacon wants to pass the guard but Flare is keeping the position.
Flare is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Bacon lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Bacon passes Flare's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bacon stalling.
Bacon wants to stand up but Flare has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Bacon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bacon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cevada Bacon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bacon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bacon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Bacon gets caught napping as Flare dives in and scores a takedown. Bacon manages to retain guard.

Bacon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Flare defends it easily.

Flare gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
John Flare seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Flare closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Flare lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bacon manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Bacon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bacon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bacon lands in his opponent's guard.

Bacon trying to control the position from guard on top but Flare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Cevada Bacon has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Bacon leaves Flare with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Flare keeps the fight on the outside.
Flare circles away from the clinch attempt.
Flare throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bacon's waist but Bacon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flare off to one side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Flare tries to sprawl but Bacon drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looks like Bacon is going to stand back up.

Bacon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Flare is looking to improve his position.

Flare is trying to control but can't.
Bacon controlling the action here.
Bacon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bacon breaks from Flare's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Bacon content just to control the position here.
Bacon prevents Flare from getting the reversal.

Bacon controlling the position easily from mount.
Bacon looking to control but Flare is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Bacon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Flare haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Cevada Bacon was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bacon.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cevada Bacon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Bacon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Bacon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bacon is looking to clinch but Flare is avoiding it.

Bacon tries to pull guard but Flare holds him up against the cage and eventually Bacon drops back down to his feet.
Bacon is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Bacon is trying to force a seperation but Flare has the dominant position.

Flare breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Flare decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bacon's guard.
John Flare has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cevada Bacon.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Flare stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bacon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Flare stops Bacon from standing up.

Flare drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bacon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Flare has Bacon in his guard.

Bacon wanted to stand there but Flare had control of the position.
Bacon tries to free his leg and advance position but Flare is retaining full guard.

Bacon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Flare has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bacon has managed to get both his arms back between Flare's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bacon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Bacon wants to pass the guard but Flare is keeping the position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Flare postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bacon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Flare, into his guard.

Bacon wants to pass the guard but Flare is keeping the position.

Flare keeping moving, preventing Bacon from controlling successfully.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Cevada Bacon has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bacon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
