The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Rua.
Rua keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Rua forces Black back against the cage and clinches.

Rua manages to break the clinch.
No luck for Black with that takedown attempt.
Rua misses with a wild combination.
Rua tries to bum rush Black with a series of wild strikes but Black uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Rua shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Rua gets to his feet. Black looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Rua clinches with his opponent.
Black has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rua is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wilson Black. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rua has Black pushed against the cage.
Black is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Rua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Black wants to hit a switch here but Rua passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Black there!
Black regains half guard.
