Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James O Brien! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chance Boudreaux! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Brien tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boudreaux was well out of range. Poor timing from O Brien. Boudreaux lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. A cross from Boudreaux lands. Boudreaux pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Chance Boudreaux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boudreaux lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. O Brien is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Boudreaux lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Boudreaux waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract O Brien. Boudreaux connects with a crisp jab. Boudreaux connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between O Brien's hands. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! O Brien shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Boudreaux as he jumps to the side. O Brien looking to score a takedown here. Boudreaux is defending well but O Brien drives through and ends up in Boudreaux's guard. Boudreaux is controlling O Brien's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Brien is looking to work some ground and pound but Boudreaux has wrist control. O Brien trying to control the position from guard on top but Boudreaux is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. O Brien sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Boudreaux's guard. O Brien not doing much here.
O Brien is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Boudreaux is just riding it out for now. O Brien eventually gives up the hold.
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Brien is keen to just control but Boudreaux is a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. O Brien is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of James O Brien. O Brien tries to clinch up but Boudreaux circles away and keeps his distance. O Brien takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Boudreaux scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Boudreaux scores with a hook. Boudreaux lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
O Brien is rocked! O Brien moves away from the strike by Boudreaux. O Brien walks straight into a right hand from Boudreaux - that's dropped him! Boudreaux jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save O Brien from any more punishment! O Brien complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
