Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane MacLain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MacLain is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Drowning Pool - Bodies (Let The Bodies Hit The Floor. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derk Diggler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Shane MacLain! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diggler moves out of range of the body kick. The fight moves into the clinch position. MacLain decides to pull guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Diggler slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. MacLain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Diggler drops back looking for a leg! MacLain is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and MacLain manages to kick Diggler off! Diggler jumps back into MacLain's guard. Diggler sitting in guard, not really doing much. MacLain utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. MacLain wants to stand and escape but Diggler is having none of it. Diggler wants to control from the top but MacLain keeps moving. Diggler is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because MacLain is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Derk Diggler. MacLain darts in looking for a takedown but Diggler gets double underhooks and turns MacLain into the cage. Diggler gets underhooks to prevent MacLain's takedown attempt.
MacLain breaks the clinch.
Diggler goes for a double leg but MacLain avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as MacLain continues to drive forward. Diggler tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. MacLain just stands there and leans against the cage. MacLain ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. MacLain no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Diggler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Diggler decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Diggler gets a double leg takedown into MacLain's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diggler wants to control from the top but MacLain keeps moving. Diggler decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on MacLain, up you get! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Diggler closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Diggler wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by MacLain, who protects the arm well. MacLain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diggler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Diggler working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Diggler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, MacLain has escaped the position, nice work there. Diggler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, MacLain has escaped the position, nice work there. MacLain tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Diggler wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diggler fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Diggler is working to tighten is grip on MacLain's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. MacLain has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Diggler is really squeezing tight and eventually MacLain passes out! Diggler breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Derk Diggler!
