Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Stiglitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devin Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Stiglitz might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ecstasy of Gold. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hugo Stiglitz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Devin Kane! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stiglitz shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense. Stiglitz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kane counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Hugo Stiglitz has been cut. Stiglitz wants to clinch and Kane counters with a straight right hand. Stiglitz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kane circles away. Stiglitz misses with a takedown attempt - Kane sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hugo Stiglitz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stiglitz shoots in but no luck this time. Stiglitz attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Stiglitz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Kane paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stiglitz shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Stiglitz shoots in looking for a takedown. Kane tries to sprawl out of it but Stiglitz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Kane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stiglitz fails with the takedown. Kane scores with a shot to the body.
Stiglitz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kane quickly recovers to half guard. Stiglitz throws a strike but Kane avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stiglitz passes Kane's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Stiglitz seems to be looking for submissions.
Stiglitz is stalling here. Kane is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Stiglitz seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kane has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Stiglitz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stiglitz tries to buck Kane off but Kane is having none of it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stiglitz tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kane presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stiglitz sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Stiglitz tries to get to full guard but Kane has control of the leg. Stiglitz is trying to stand.
Stiglitz looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Stiglitz is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Kane jumps into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stiglitz manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Kane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stiglitz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kane avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Stiglitz. Stiglitz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kane sees it coming and defends easily. Stiglitz seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Kane is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Hugo Stiglitz! Hugo Stiglitz very nearly forgot to thank Dragon amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
