The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couturier slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Li takes one to the side of the head.
No joy there for Li, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've been told by Couturier's head coaches at Wolfschanze that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Li swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Li misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kurtis Couturier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Li ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Couturier moves away.

Li lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Couturier circles away quickly and effectively.
Li takes a swing at Couturier's ribcage but misses.

and Li counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Couturier throws a right hand that Li ducks under and follows up with a left that Li also avoids with ease.
Couturier uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Li ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Couturier moves away.
Li throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Li throws a series of strikes that have Couturier backpedaling.
Li takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Couturier fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Li, pushing him back against the cage.

Li throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Couturier uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Li.
Li thows a body shot but no joy.
Couturier ducks under a wild hook from Li.
Li throws the left hand but Couturier avoids the punch easily.

Couturier darts in and clinches Li up against the cage.
Couturier lands a right hand that snaps the head of Li backwards.
Still in the clinch, Couturier scores with a nice short uppercut.
A nice left hand lands by Couturier.
Li doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Li jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Couturier walks away with a smile on his face. Li gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Li looks to score with a jab to the body but Couturier is just out of range.
Li is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Couturier rather than just go for the knockout.

Couturier drops Li with a beautiful combination! Li stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Couturier is looking for the KO!
