Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Table Shade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Mephisto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Shade takes the fight into the clinch.

Mephisto closes the distance and clinches up with Shade, looking for a takedown. Mephisto pushes Shade against the cage but Shade circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Shade moves into range and clinches up with Mephisto.

Shade closes the distance and pushes Mephisto back into the cage.
Shade unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mephisto lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Shade is trying to trip Mephisto. He has hold of a leg but Mephisto is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Shade persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shade is looking to stand up but Mephisto won't let him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shade accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Shade is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Shade wants to stand but Mephisto has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Mephisto throws a leg kick but Shade moved away.

Mephisto throws out a leg kick but Shade moves out of range and Mephisto only half commits.

Shade fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mephisto sprawls well initially but Shade persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mephisto wants to improve his position but Shade is controlling well.
Mephisto manages to get to full guard.
Mephisto seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mephisto is fighting off a takedown attempt but Shade is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mephisto to the mat. Mephisto regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Shade pushes Mephisto off but Mephisto dives into side control.

Mephisto misses with a punch to the head.
Mephisto biding his time, looking for the opening.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mephisto thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Mephisto keeps control of the position easily here as Shade tries to buck him off.
Shade just trying to survive but Mephisto is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

A close second round but El Mephisto will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

It looks like El Mephisto has been cut.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Mephisto takes an elbow to the forehead.

Shade manages to break the clinch.
Shade checks a leg kick nicely.
Table Shade seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shade clinches with his opponent.
Shade is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mephisto is keeping busy.
Mephisto tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shade smiles and moves away.

Mephisto is trying to push Shade away but Shade has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Shade gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mephisto regains guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mephisto is on top in guard.

Shade can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mephisto controls the pace.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Table Shade has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shade's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Table Shade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Mephisto.

Let's hope that Mephisto has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
