Johnson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: give me everything tonight pitbull ft. ne-yo afrojack & nayer. The key to victory for Al Gold has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Al Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson ducks under a wild hook from Gold.
Johnson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Johnson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gold.
Gold lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like John Johnson has been cut.
We've been told by Gold's head coaches at TAP ROOT -/- 10 Coaches / Great Sparring / Value that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gold throws an off balance right hand

and Johnson counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gold sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Gold gets back to full guard.
Johnson stops Gold from standing up.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Gold is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gold is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gold on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gold tries to get out of the position.
Johnson looking to sit in guard and control but Gold gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Gold advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gold slips a nice elbow through Johnson's hands, connecting with Johnson's forehead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gold wants to work for an arm triangle but Johnson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gold winds up and cracks Johnson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


The cut above John Johnson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gold looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Johnson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.


John Johnson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Johnson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Al Gold!
Our winner, Al Gold, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
