Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Javier Esteban!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nathan Porter!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esteban connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Esteban throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Porter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Porter fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Esteban looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Esteban takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Esteban wants to clinch but Porter slips to the side
and Esteban takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Esteban is rocked!
It looks like Javier Esteban has been cut.
Esteban moves to clinch but Porter breaks away
and Porter counters with a straight that turns Esteban's legs to rubber! Porter pushes forward with more strikes and Esteban goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nathan Porter!
A less than humble Nathan Porter misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
