Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Massiv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fatu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hawaii - Aloha-Oe. Max Massiv will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Massiv misses with a low kick.
Massiv lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Fatu darts in looking for a takedown but Massiv gets double underhooks and turns Fatu into the cage.
Fatu has Massiv pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Fatu pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Massiv tumbling to the mat - Fatu dives into Massiv's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Massiv looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fatu is one step ahead there.
Fatu content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ryan Fatu has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Fatu shoots in but Massiv avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fatu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Massiv is fending him off so far but Fatu persists. Nope, Massiv circles away and we're back to standing.

Massiv is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Massiv really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fatu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Massiv might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fatu haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fatu seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Massiv for as long as he can get away with.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Fatu goes for a double leg but Massiv avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Massiv continues to drive forward.
Fatu has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Massiv is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Fatu tries to pull guard but Massiv won't allow it.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Fatu here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Massiv can't keep his opponent in guard - Fatu advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Fatu is taking a breather. Massiv says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Massiv is looking to regain half guard here but Fatu keeps moving and retains side control.
Massiv is trying to control Fatu's posture but Fatu avoids it.
Fatu is staying tight to Massiv's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Massiv gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Fatu moves into full mount! Massiv won't be happy about that!

Ryan Fatu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fatu's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ryan Fatu really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Fishy Fighting logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
