PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Bundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denard Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bundy comes to the cage accompanied by Bad to The Bone. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Al Bundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Denard Black!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Bundy.
Black looks to land a left hand but Bundy moved out of range nicely.
Bundy lands a slapping body shot.
Bundy misses with a straight right.
Al Bundy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Black throws a shot from downtown. Bundy moves away and avoids it.
Black uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bundy.
Black thuds a left hand into Bundy's body.
Decent striking displayed by Bundy there.
Black looks to land a left hand but Bundy moved out of range nicely.
Black misses with a looping left.
Bundy shoots in looking for a takedown. Black tries to sprawl out of it but Bundy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Black manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Black throws a right hand that misses
and Bundy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Black thinking.
Black throws a hook to the side of Bundy's head but Bundy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Black will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nice shot lands for Black.
Bundy attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
A combination from Bundy does no damage.
Bundy shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Bundy fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Bundy lands with an overhand left.
Bundy throws a hook but Black avoids it easily.
Black misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Bundy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Black scores with a nice right hand.
Denard Black is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Black lands with a shot to the body.
Bundy looks to land a right hand but Black moved out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bundy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bundy misses with an uppercut.
Black connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Black lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bundy circles away quickly and effectively.
Black moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Bundy moves into range and connects with a jab.


It looks like Denard Black has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bundy.
Bundy misses with a lunging right hand
letting Black counter with a right hand.
Black displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bundy throws out the jab.
Black missing with a left hand there. Bundy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Black ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Black comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Black scores with a jab. Bundy acknowledges it with a nod of the head.


It looks like Al Bundy has been cut.
Bundy fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Al Bundy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bundy swings for the body but Black moves out of range.
Bundy lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bundy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Black defending well as Bundy loads up on a big left hand.
Black misses with a body shot.
Bundy on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bundy moves in looking to clinch but Black pushes him off.
Bundy works Black's body with a nice hook.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Black lands a two punch combo.
Bundy shoots in and drives through. Black sprawls well.
Black misses with a lunging right hand

and Bundy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Black's guard now.
Black is looking to stand up but Bundy isn't so interested in that idea.
Bundy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Bundy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bundy won't allow Black to get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bundy scoring with punches to the head and body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Al Bundy will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Bundy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Black gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bundy's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Black is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Bundy presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Bundy has Black pressed against the cage, preventing Black from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Black wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bundy is working for takedown but Black is calmly controlling the position for now.
Black has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Black breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black misses with a looping left.
Bundy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Black tries to avoid it but Bundy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Black to the ground. Black escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bundy cracks Black with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Bundy closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Black throws a jab but it's blocked by Bundy.
Black takes a swing at Bundy's ribcage but misses.
Black keeps the fight on the outside.
Black moves out of range of the strikes.
Black fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Bundy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Black as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Al Bundy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bundy is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Black.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A big right from Bundy misses.

Bundy throws a lazy uppercut
and Black counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bundy connects with a right hand. Black shakes it off.
Black missing with a left hand there. Bundy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A jab from Bundy does it's job there.
Bundy cracks Black with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Black falls to his knees and Bundy doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Al Bundy!
A relieved looking Al Bundy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
