PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Harris!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snow moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Harris loads up on a big right hand but Snow slips the punch.
Snow is looking to score with low kicks.
Harris will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Harris counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Harris.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harris has gone for a leg lock! Snow slips out almost immediately though and dives into Harris's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jon Snow will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Snow throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Harris lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Snow throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Snow tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Harris misses the shot to the body.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Harris checks a leg kick.
Harris avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Snow fails in his attempt to clinch.
Snow moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Harris crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Snow - the referee stops the clock and Harris gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Snow. Harris manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Paul Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Harris throws a solid leg kick but Snow takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Harris.
Harris throws an overhand right that lands on Snow's shoulder, as Snow tries to avoid the shot.
Snow cracks the inside of Harris's front leg.
Harris thumps Snow with a low kick.
Snow dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Harris. That did some damage!

Snow takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Harris tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Harris has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Snow.
Harris throws a low kick, looking for Snow's leg but Snow calmly moves out of range.
Snow on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Snow tries a head kick but it misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Harris lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Snow has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Snow and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Harris slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Harris has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Harris drops back, looking for a kneebar! Snow looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Snow looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Snow!
Harris tries to strike from the bottom but misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Paul Harris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Harris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
