Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Woima Karhu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juho Pennanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karhu comes to the cage accompanied by House of Pain - Jump Around. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Woima Karhu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Juho Pennanen! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pennanen has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Karhu. Pennanen lands with a hook. Karhu tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
It looks like Woima Karhu has been cut. Karhu misses the shot to the body. Karhu is looking to clinch but Pennanen is avoiding it.
Karhu tries for a takedown but Pennanen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Pennanen misses with a looping left. Karhu moves in looking to clinch but Pennanen pushes him off. A combination from Karhu does no damage. Pennanen looks to land a left hand but Karhu moved out of range nicely. Pennanen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Karhu. Pennanen misses with an uppercut
and Karhu counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Karhu wants to work for an arm triangle but Pennanen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Karhu is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pennanen has managed to free his arm - good work. Karhu is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pennanen tries to get to full guard but Karhu has control of the leg. Karhu seems to be working for a kimura but Pennanen defends the submission attempt. Karhu prevents Pennanen from improving his position. Karhu keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karhu is looking to advance position but Pennanen won't allow it. Karhu seems to be looking for submissions.
Pennanen is not content to let Karhu control the position. Pennanen is positioning himself well to prevent Karhu advancing to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karhu trying to control from half guard but Pennanen is working away. Karhu is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Pennanen is looking to control Karhu's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pennanen avoid being mounted? Pennanen is staying active underneath Karhu, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Pennanen is positioning himself well to prevent Karhu advancing to mount.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Juho Pennanen. Pennanen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Karhu checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Pennanen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Juho Pennanen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Karhu scores with a hook to the body. Pennanen takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Karhu avoids a punch combination nicely.

Woima Karhu dominated that round. The cut man is working on Woima Karhu's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Pennanen throws a right and a left that both miss. Pennanen throws a lazy right hand but Karhu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Pennanen checks a leg kick. Pennanen thows a left - swing and a miss! Pennanen dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pennanen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Karhu. Karhu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Karhu takes one to the chin there. Pennanen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Karhu. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Karhu, right into the meat.
Pennanen missing with a left hand there. Karhu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Karhu connects with an inside leg kick. Karhu swings widly with a right hand
and Pennanen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Pennanen misses with an uppercut. Karhu throws a head kick but Pennanen moves out of range.
Karhu moves away from the strike by Pennanen. Pennanen tries to clinch but Karhu is having none of it. Pennanen throws a lazy uppercut
and Karhu counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Karhu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pennanen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Karhu with a hook. A solid leg kick lands there for Pennanen.
Karhu throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pennanen on the side of the head. Karhu connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Pennanen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A good leg kick by Karhu. Karhu lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Karhu shoots in but no luck this time. Pennanen throws a left and a right that both miss
and Karhu counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Karhu advances to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karhu is trying to work for a kimura but Pennanen is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pennanen is trying desperately to improve position. Karhu has control of Pennanen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pennanen regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Karhu looking to secure an arm triangle but Pennanen defends it well. Karhu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Karhu is trying to take his opponent's back.

Pennanen walks forward, straight into a front kick from Karhu. Pennanen throws a sloppy head kick and Karhu moves out of range easily. Pennanen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Karhu showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Karhu looking to pass the guard. Karhu wants to control from the top but Pennanen keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karhu is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Woima Karhu. Karhu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pennanen throws out the jab. Karhu on the wrong end of a nice hook. Karhu staying out of range there. Juho Pennanen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Karhu is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Pennanen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Karhu. Karhu shoots in for a takedown but Pennanen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Karhu tries to work over Pennanen's front leg with a kick but Pennanen checks it. Karhu looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Pennanen is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karhu tries to pass to full mount but Pennanen defends it. Karhu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Karhu wants to control but Pennanen is keeping him busy. Juho Pennanen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Karhu is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Pennanen still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Pennanen has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Woima Karhu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karhu regains half guard. Karhu wants to get back to full guard. Pennanen sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Karhu defending well though. The fighters are battling for position here. Karhu manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Karhu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pennanen throwing strikes from guard but Karhu blocks nicely. Pennanen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Karhu lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pennanen!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karhu goes for an armbar but Pennanen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Pennanen. Pennanen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Karhu works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Woima Karhu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Karhu looking for a sweep. Not yet Karhu, not yet. Karhu is trying to control the position but Pennanen postures up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pennanen won't allow Karhu to sweep him here. Karhu had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pennanen defends it easily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pennanen with a flurry of punches that miss.
And that's the end of the fight! Woima Karhu showed his dominance in that final round. Well Karhu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
