The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McBride is trying to get back to half guard.
McBride regains half guard.
McBride is looking to improve his position.
McBride regains full guard. Nicely done.
Angel trying to move into half guard but instead McBride has managed to sweep!
Angel wants to sweep here but McBride controlling him for the moment.
McBride looking to pass the guard.
McBride drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McBride jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Angel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Angel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McBride doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McBride manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Angel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McBride on the ground.

Angel wants to get back to his feet but McBride is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Angel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
McBride pushes down on Angel's leg and manages to get into half guard.
McBride seems to be looking for submissions.
McBride seems to be working for a kimura but Angel defends the submission attempt.
McBride is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

McBride thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Angel's head.
McBride passes to side control.
McBride goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Angel has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McBride but great work by Angel.

McBride regains half guard.
Angel is pressing down on McBride's thigh, looking to free his foot. McBride is holding on for now.
Angel is tying to control. McBride wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Angel is stalling here. McBride is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Angel seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and McBride has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

and Angel counters with a nice double leg into side control. McBride won't be happy with that.

McBride manages to work his way to half guard, despite Angel's best efforts.
Angel wants to take a breather but McBride is having none of it.

McBride is looking for a triangle but Angel pushes his legs off easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Angel is sitting in close to McBride's body. McBride has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Angel is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Angel is tapping! That was a very nice submission by McBride.
