Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christian Birchmont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soto comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Busta Rhymes Feat Eminem - I'll Hurt You kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Birchmont!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luiz Soto!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Birchmont leaves Soto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Birchmont tries to clinch up but Soto circles away and keeps his distance.
Soto takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
No luck for Soto with that takedown attempt.
Birchmont cracks Soto with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Soto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Birchmont is fending him off so far but Soto persists. Nope, Birchmont circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round but I would say that Christian Birchmont will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Christian Birchmont.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Birchmont, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
