Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Alan Karaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Thadani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tom Thadani!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Thadani lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Karaev has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Karaev and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Alan Karaev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thadani moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

We've been informed that Thadani has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

I was talking to Karaev's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Thadani will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Karaev up against the ropes.

It looks like Alan Karaev has been cut.

Thadani has control of Karaev and unloads with a rapid fire barage of elbows, sending Karaev crashing to the mat! Karaev looks in big trouble - I don't think he's going to beat the count! He hasn't! The referee has reached 10 and this fight is all over! Thadani looks delighted, as well he should.
