Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Oath! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deidara Zetsu! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oath throws a front kick aimed at Zetsu's knee but Zetsu avoids it well. Zetsu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Zetsu looks to score with a jab to the body but Oath is just out of range. We've been hearing reports that Oath has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Zetsu takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Jab from Oath.
It looks like Deidara Zetsu has been cut. Oath looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Zetsu thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Oath if he has to take too many more of those.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Oath shoots in but no luck this time. Oath throws a good cross that connects.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Zetsu checks a leg kick. Zetsu waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Oath. Zetsu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Oath.
Zetsu throws a shot from downtown. Oath moves away and avoids it. Zetsu slips under a jab from Oath. Zetsu takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Zetsu scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. A head kick misses from Zetsu. Oath lands a right hook to the body.

Zetsu throws a low kick, looking for Oath's leg but Oath calmly moves out of range. Oath misses with a straight left. Deidara Zetsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oath checks a low kick from Zetsu. Zetsu shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Oath is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Oath fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Oath has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Oath. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zetsu looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Oath throws the left hand but Zetsu avoids the punch easily. Oath closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Oath lands in his opponent's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Oath accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Zetsu is on top in guard.
Oath lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Zetsu! Zetsu is squirming around, avoiding Oath's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zetsu tries to hold on but Oath pushes him away. Zetsu blocking the ground and pound. Oath controlling from the full mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Oath lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Zetsu hang on? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Oath dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Oath tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zetsu was well out of range. Poor timing from Oath. Zetsu tries a head kick but it misses.
Zetsu throws a leg kick and Oath counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Oath. Zetsu keeping moving, preventing Oath from controlling successfully. Oath scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Oath won't allow Zetsu to sweep him here. Oath with a flurry of punches that miss. Ken Oath overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Zetsu tries to land a sweep but no joy. Zetsu being controlled here, momentarily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Oath wants to control from the top but Zetsu keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zetsu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Oath is one step ahead there. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Oath trying to control but Zetsu is working from the bottom. Oath trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ken Oath has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. A head kick misses from Oath. Zetsu misses with a body shot.
A solid leg kick lands there for Zetsu.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Oath on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Oath slips a jab from Zetsu. Zetsu throws a sloppy head kick and Oath moves out of range easily. Nice sprawl there from Oath as Zetsu shoots in. Zetsu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Zetsu is looking to land body kicks. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Zetsu tries a head kick but it misses.

Zetsu is breathing heavily. Oath moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Zetsu throws a sloppy head kick and Oath moves out of range easily. Oath misses with a double jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Oath. Zetsu throws a wild body kick that Oath sees coming a mile off. A slow jab from Zetsu misses its intended target. Oath throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Oath throws a leg kick that misses. Oath lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The cut above Deidara Zetsu's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Oath is looking to wear down Zetsu with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Zetsu is looking to clinch but Oath is avoiding it.

and Oath decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Zetsu's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Zetsu avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Oath trying to control the position from guard on top but Zetsu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oath is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Oath with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Oath's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Oath wants to control from the top but Zetsu keeps moving. Oath lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Oath trying to control but Zetsu is working from the bottom. Oath tries to free his leg and advance position but Zetsu is retaining full guard. Oath is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Zetsu wants to control but Oath passes easily into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oath winds up and cracks Zetsu with a swinging punch to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A low kick from Zetsu misses and Oath counters with a single leg into guard. Zetsu didn't expect that. Zetsu keeping moving, preventing Oath from controlling successfully. Zetsu working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Oath. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Oath's corner is telling him to maintain position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Oath accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Oath is in close to Zetsu's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Zetsu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Zetsu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Zetsu tries to land a sweep but no joy. Oath trying to control but Zetsu is working from the bottom. Oath controlling from the top position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Zetsu tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oath working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Oath stands up over Zetsu, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Deidara Zetsu's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Deidara Zetsu's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ken Oath! Ken Oath retains his heavyweight title! An out of breath Ken Oath thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
