Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delano Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson has chosen New York as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Balboa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Delano Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson walks into a left hand.
Balboa swings away with a leg kick that misses.
No luck for Balboa with that takedown attempt.

Balboa has taken the fight to the clinch.
Balboa looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Balboa jumps guard but Thompson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Thompson works on Balboa's body with a couple of short punches.
Thompson is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thompson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Thompson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Balboa is defending well.
A bit of stalling here from Balboa.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Balboa for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Thompson misses with a hook from the clinch.
Balboa wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Balboa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thompson walks away with a smile on his face. Balboa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Balboa rushes Thompson and presses him up against the cage.
Thompson wants a takedown.
Balboa has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Thompson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Thompson tries to score a body lock takedown but Balboa shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Balboa tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Thompson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Balboa tries for a takedown. No joy.
Balboa is looking to break free of the clinch but Thompson has double underhooks.
Thompson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Balboa.
Thompson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Balboa gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Balboa has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Thompson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Thompson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Thompson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Thompson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thompson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Thompson is trying to control the action in half guard but Balboa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Thompson gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Thompson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Balboa throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Thompson blocks it with crossed arms.

Thompson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Thompson manages to end up in side control.

Balboa is trying to improve his position.

Thompson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thompson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

You can see the frustration on Balboa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Thompson gets the takedown into side control.
Balboa sneaks back into half guard.
Balboa wants to control but Thompson is keeping busy.
Balboa is looking for a sweep. Thompson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rocky Balboa wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Thompson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Thompson seems to be working for a kimura but Balboa defends the submission attempt.

Thompson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Balboa keeps working.

Balboa is looking to stand up but Thompson isn't so interested in that idea.
Thompson wants to control from the top but Balboa keeps moving.

A frustrated look appears on Thompson's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Balboa is trying to drag Thompson to the mat but Thompson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Thompson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Balboa shoots in for a double leg but Thompson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Balboa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Thompson smiles and moves away.

Balboa is looking to regain half guard here but Thompson keeps moving and retains side control.
Thompson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Thompson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Balboa rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Thompson's guard! Nice work there by Balboa!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Thompson wants to hit a switch here but Balboa passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Thompson there!

Delano Thompson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Thompson tries to lock up and control but Balboa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Thompson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Thompson wants to control but Balboa is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Thompson is squirming around, avoiding Balboa's attempts to control the action.

Delano Thompson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Thompson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
