Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nursultan Tuliegbay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smolder Stoner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Stoner misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stoner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Tuliegbay throws a poor cross that misses
and Stoner counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

We've been hearing that Tuliegbay has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stoner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tuliegbay escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stoner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Stoner throws an elbow that misses. Tuliegbay uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stoner's guard. Nice move by Tuliegbay!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smolder Stoner has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Stoner throws a series of punches but Tuliegbay moves out of range.

Tuliegbay bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Tuliegbay throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Stoner counters with a nice body shot.
Stoner throws a nice looking combination but Tuliegbay bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tuliegbay throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stoner sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tuliegbay wants to land a leg kick but Stoner is out of range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nice takedown defense from Stoner. No joy for Tuliegbay on that attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nursultan Tuliegbay will probably get the nod.

Tuliegbay has his foot on Stoner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stoner works his way back into a safe position though.

Tuliegbay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stoner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Tuliegbay is tightening it up a little... Stoner has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Stoner reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Stoner taps out! Nice BJJ there by Tuliegbay!
