PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Saint Seiya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yurameshi Takai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seiya comes to the cage accompanied by Pegasus Fantasy. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Saint Seiya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Yurameshi Takai!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takai's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Seiya connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Takai scrambles back to his feet.
Seiya connects with a looping right hand.
Takai misses with a lunging right hand
and Seiya counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Seiya lands with a nice body punch.
Takai is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters circle momentarily. Seiya darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Takai misses with a left hand
and Seiya makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Seiya counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Good work by Takai as he checks the leg kick.

Takai forces Seiya back against the cage and clinches.

Takai has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Seiya lands a body shot in the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Takai is trying to force a seperation but Seiya has the dominant position.
Seiya has Takai pressed against the cage, preventing Takai from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Saint Seiya.
Seiya moves out of range of the leg kick from Takai.

Seiya pushes Takai up against the cage in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Takai's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Takai takes a shot to the head.
Seiya slowing the pace effectively.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Seiya is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
A nice left hand lands by Seiya.

Takai tries to circle away but Seiya has him pinned against the cage.

Seiya content to slow the pace in the clinch.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Saint Seiya.

and Seiya counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Seiya's corner calls for a 1-2. Seiya obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Takai looks to land a left hand but Seiya moved out of range nicely.

Seiya ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Takai looks winded!
Takai on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Seiya wants to land a leg kick but Takai is out of range.
Saint Seiya is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Seiya throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Takai on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Seiya connects with a body shot that sends Takai's belly button to the back.
Seiya cracks a nice hook into Takai's ribs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Takai is rocked!
Seiya lands with a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Saint Seiya dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Takai walks into a stiff left hand from Seiya.
Takai is still on wobbly legs! Can Seiya finish him?
Seiya lands a nice shot to the body.
Seiya throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Takai finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Seiya's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Takai falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Saint Seiya!
Saint Seiya decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
