Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hanlon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Caron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caron has chosen "99 Problems" as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as John Caron enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Hanlon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Caron!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanlon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Caron swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Caron tries to clinch up but Hanlon circles away and keeps his distance.

Hanlon closes the distance and clinches.
Caron tries to throw a body punch but Hanlon avoids it by throwing Caron back against the cage.
Caron throws a head punch that misses.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Caron takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Hanlon has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Caron after a bit of a struggle.
Caron's coach down at Academy of Combat was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Caron's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Hanlon pulls guard.
Caron throws a big right hand that misses.
Caron with a flurry of punches that miss.

Hanlon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hanlon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Caron's guard.

Caron is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hanlon defends well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hanlon content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hanlon stands and throws Caron's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Caron is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hanlon looks up at the clock and then as Caron takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hanlon smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hanlon connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Caron some visible discomfort.
Caron is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hanlon connects with a decent elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hanlon cracks Caron with a big right hand but Caron just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hanlon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hanlon has an Americana. Caron didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hanlon is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hanlon hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mark Hanlon!
Mark Hanlon very nearly forgot to thank Zentrope Fighting Universe amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
