1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob Butterworth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cesar James! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from James.
James scores with a head kick. Butterworth tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Jacob Butterworth has been cut. James uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Butterworth closes this distance looking for a takedown but James circles away. Butterworth shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as James sprawls well. James wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Butterworth gets slowly back to his feet. James forces Butterworth back against the cage and clinches. James misses with a hook to the ribs.
James is trying to break the clinch but Butterworth is controlling him. James scores with a shot to the side of Butterworth's head. Butterworth goes for a takedown attempt but James pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round. James tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Butterworth manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. James stalks Butterworth and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Butterworth's face. Butterworth staggers backwards, shaken. James looks to land a combination but Butterworth avoids it well. Butterworth gets tackled into the cage by James. James maintains the clinch. James breaks from the clinch.
We've been informed that James has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. James throws a right hand that Butterworth ducks under and follows up with a left that Butterworth also avoids with ease. James lands with an uppercut that bounces Butterworth off the cage and back into range. James pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Butterworth back to the cage. James follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. James lands a head shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! James works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Cesar James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. James scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Nice jab there from James. James throws a head kick but Butterworth moves out of range.

James scores with a one two! Butterworth had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. James is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Butterworth avoids a lazy jab quite easily. James lands an overhand right. James tries to clinch but Butterworth is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Butterworth shoots in looking for a takedown but James manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Butterworth's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Butterworth avoids the head kick by James.
James tries to land a front kick but Butterworth steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. James misses with a series of wild punches.

Butterworth eats them both and turns towards James to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Butterworth gets tackled into the cage by James. James maintains the clinch. James has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. James manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Butterworth tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault. James misses with a two punch combination.
James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Butterworth. James wants to clinch up but Butterworth keeps it at a distance. James lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Butterworth circles away quickly and effectively. Butterworth moves out of range of the strikes. James lands with a nice combination. Butterworth backs away looking to recover. James looks winded! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. James displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Butterworth uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from James. James misses with an uppercut. Butterworth saw that one coming. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cesar James dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jacob Butterworth's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A combination from James does no damage. Butterworth takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jacob Butterworth is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. James throws a hook to the side of Butterworth's head but Butterworth sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. James throws a sloppy head kick and Butterworth moves out of range easily. James is looking to clinch. Butterworth fails with a takedown attempt. James wants to clinch. James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Butterworth. James might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

James throws a series of punches but Butterworth moves out of range. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from James. James closes the distance and clinches. James is looking to break free of the clinch but Butterworth has double underhooks. James can't find room to land a body shot as Butterworth controls the action.
Butterworth drops down looking for an ankle pick but James pulls his leg out and moves away.

James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Butterworth. Butterworth manages to get an easy takedown there - catching James on his heels. He'll look to pass James's guard now, I'm sure. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. James is breathing heavily. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Butterworth trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Butterworth thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. This has been an exciting period of action! James can't keep his opponent in guard - Butterworth advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Butterworth seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. James is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
