Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lee Sin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masaru Shimabukuro!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Shimabukuro.
It looks like Lee Sin has been cut.
Shimabukuro scores with a three punch combo!
Shimabukuro misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shimabukuro lands with a nice body kick.
Sin fails with a takedown attempt.
Shimabukuro lands a jab to the nose.
Sin shoots in for a takedown but Shimabukuro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Shimabukuro lands a left and a right that send Sin crashing to the mat, dazed. Shimabukuro thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Sin is rocked!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shimabukuro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Oh Sin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sin needs to keep his hands up - Shimabukuro had a free shot at his head there.
Shimabukuro circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sin fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Sin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shimabukuro keeps Sin at a distance using the push kick.
Sin seems to have got his legs back now.
Sin tries to clinch up but Shimabukuro circles away and keeps his distance.
Shimabukuro lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Shimabukuro.
Sin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shimabukuro pinned against the cage. Shimabukuro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Shimabukuro misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Shimabukuro.
Shimabukuro lands a big head kick that sends Sin tumbling to the mat! Shimabukuro takes a step backwards and waves Sin back to his feet - he wants the finish!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sin gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Shimabukuro gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Masaru Shimabukuro!
