Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Valiqe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jose Valiqe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valiqe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Valiqe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Knight swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Knight is trying to control the position but Valiqe postures up.
Valiqe slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Knight instigates a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Valiqe throws an elbow but misses.
Valiqe tries to land knees in the clinch but Knight avoids the damage to the body.
Knight tries to throw a body punch but Valiqe avoids it by throwing Knight back against the cage.
Knight can't find room to land a body shot as Valiqe controls the action.

Knight would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Knight is pushing down on Valiqe's leg trying to pass to half guard. Valiqe is fighting to maintain full guard but Knight has managed to sneak the leg through.

Valiqe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Knight is working away from the top position though.
Knight is looking to take a break and control but Valiqe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Valiqe tries to keep at a distance but Knight has taken the fight into the clinch.

Knight escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valiqe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Valiqe is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Knight's shoulder. That is not cool.
Valiqe cracks Knight with a big right hand but Knight just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Valiqe is working to tighten is grip on Knight's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Knight has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Valiqe is really squeezing tight and eventually Knight passes out! Valiqe breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
