Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Oxenfrei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Burns might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Die by the drop. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns tries to clinch there but Oxenfrei circles away.
Burns fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Oxenfrei tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Burns takes one to the chin there.
Burns takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Burns counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I was talking to Burns's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Burns lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Oliver Oxenfrei has been cut.

Oxenfrei blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Oxenfrei is trying to force a seperation but Burns has the dominant position.

Oxenfrei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fighters circle momentarily. Burns darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Oxenfrei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burns was well out of range. Poor timing from Oxenfrei.
Burns changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Burns lands a big head kick that sends Oxenfrei tumbling to the mat! Burns takes a step backwards and waves Oxenfrei back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Burns throws a right hand that Oxenfrei ducks under and follows up with a left that Oxenfrei also avoids with ease.

Oxenfrei shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Burns digs a good hook to Oxenfrei's body.
Burns drops Oxenfrei with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Oxenfrei looks back up at him and smiles so Burns waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oxenfrei is still on wobbly legs! Can Burns finish him?
Burns feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Oxenfrei sprawling to the canvas! Oxenfrei rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Burns finish him?!
Oliver Oxenfrei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Burns has cracked Oxenfrei with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Burns lands another huge swinging hook and Oxenfrei tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Oxenfrei, before Burns can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). William Burns!
A relieved looking William Burns thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
