1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barry Benson! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grace slips under a jab from Benson. Grace has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Benson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Benson wants it to stay on the feet. Benson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Benson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Grace taking punishment in the form of punches.
Benson cracks Grace with a big right hand but Grace just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

My spies in Cozad MMA Rio inform me that Benson has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Grace manages to work his way to half guard, despite Benson's best efforts. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Benson postures up in Grace's guard and throws a big left but Grace blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Benson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Grace looking for a sweep. Not yet Grace, not yet. Grace has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Benson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Grace has tightened it up now! Benson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
