Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathayus Fane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Nash could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mathayus Fane's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kevin Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mathayus Fane!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nash swinging wildly here.
Fane throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nash.
Mathayus Fane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fane cracks Nash with an open hand slap.
Fane is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fane feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nashs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Fane tries to sprawl but Nash drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Nash looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Nash is taking a breather. Fane says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Nash thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fane's head.

Nash is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Nash wants to work for an arm triangle but Fane is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nash has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Fane's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Nash can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fane is looking to escape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kevin Nash will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fane swings for the body but Nash moves out of range.
Nash looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fane is fending him off so far but Nash persists. Nope, Fane circles away and we're back to standing.
Nash dives in for a single leg takedown but Fane sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Nash is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Fane looks to throw the jab but Nash is out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Fane.
No luck for Nash with that takedown attempt.
Nash closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Fane ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Fane is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Fane wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Fane cracks a nice hook into Nash's ribs.

The fighters circle momentarily. Fane darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Nash walks into a left hand.
Nash changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fane tries to avoid it but Nash manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fane to the ground. Fane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nash uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fane.

Nash misses with a wild body shot.
Nash walks into a jab.
No joy there for Fane, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fane thows a body shot but no joy.
Fane fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fane stuffs the takedown.

Nash takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Nash takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fane stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Nash throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fane throws a series of strikes that have Nash backpedaling.
Fane cracks Nash with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mathayus Fane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Nash's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Nash walks into a stiff left hand from Fane.
Fane throws a big shot that misses.
Fane goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fane bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Fane scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Fane sizes up Nash with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Fane lands with a straight right. Nash didn't see that one coming.
Fane swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nash. Fane does a little dance to reset his feet.
Fane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fane wants it to stay on the feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nash, as that shot connected.
Fane throws a lazy uppercut
and Nash counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Nash looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fane is fending him off so far but Nash persists. Nope, Fane circles away and we're back to standing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fane moves into range and connects with a jab.
Fane scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Fane staying out of range there.

Nash gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fane is pushing Nash's head away, looking to escape. Nash manages to hold on to the position though.

Nash is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Nash prevents Fane from escaping the position.

Nash wants to control but Fane is keeping him busy.
Nash remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Nash thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Nash misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Fane is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Nash has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Fane is not content to let Nash control the position.
Nash works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
