The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobral slaps away a takedown attempt from Calzaghe, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sobral throws a right hand that misses
and Calzaghe counters with a series of strikes. Sobral will be more careful next time no doubt.
Sobral lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sobral displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Calzaghe.
Calzaghe misses with a takedown attempt
and Sobral counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Julio Sobral has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Calzaghe.

Calzaghe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sobral defends well.
Sobral is working Calzaghe over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
