The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams fails with a takedown attempt.
Adams feints and as McDonald raises his hands in defense, Adams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McDonald is on top in guard.
Adams looking for submissions from the bottom but instead McDonald passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDonald is looking to take a break and control but Adams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Adams can do anything to dispel that myth.
McDonald lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

BOOM! McDonald connects with a massive shot to the dome!
McDonald has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Adams's face.

McDonald has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McDonald doesn't have the hooks in and Adams manages to turn into his guard.

Adams postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McDonald is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Adams, into his guard.
McDonald avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Adams isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. McDonald stacks Adams on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by McDonald!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Adams shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McDonald as he jumps to the side.
McDonald fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Adams has his takedown stuffed
and McDonald counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by McDonald.
McDonald lands an elbow just above Adams 's eye.
McDonald breaks from the clinch.
Adams misses with a takedown attempt
and McDonald counters with an inside leg kick.
Rayray McDonald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neil Adams.
Adams shoots in and bounces McDonald off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Adams slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Adams thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
McDonald wants to get back to his feet.

Adams working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Adams has an Americana. McDonald didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Adams is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Adams hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
