PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Halmeen Tony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juha Ahokas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tony throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tony misses with a hook.
Tony uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ahokas.
Ahokas throws a hook but Tony avoids it easily.
Tony takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ahokas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tony looks to land a right hand but Ahokas moved out of range.
Tony has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Juha Ahokas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Tony blocks a jab.
Tony throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ahokas sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Ahokas misses with a takedown attempt - Tony sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

My spies in Bad Pluto! inform me that Ahokas has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
