PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hendrik Hansson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Pedersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hendrik Hansson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jens Pedersen!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pedersen misses the shot to the body.
Pedersen just misses with a punch to the body.
A punch lands to the side of Hansson 's head but he takes it in his stride.


It looks like Hendrik Hansson has been cut.
Pedersen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Hansson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pedersen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hansson is in Pedersen's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Pedersen throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Hansson stands and throws Pedersen's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Pedersen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hansson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hansson in side control, just content to control the action for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pedersen can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hansson decides to stand back up. Hansson steps back and let's Pedersen get back to his feet.
Pedersen punishes Hansson's body with a nice straight punch.

Hansson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pedersen was covering up waiting for the punch and Hansson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hansson connects with a couple of short punches.
Hansson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hansson won't allow Pedersen to sweep him here.
Hansson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hansson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hansson advances to half guard.
Pedersen tries to roll over but Hansson keeps him under control.
Pedersen trying to hold on to Hansson's head to control him but Hansson postures up.
Hansson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Hansson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Hansson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pedersen punching from the bottom.
Hansson content to control rather than advance.
Pedersen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hansson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pedersen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Hendrik Hansson just wasn't active enough.

Pedersen rushes Hansson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hansson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Pedersen comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Pedersen controlling the action here for a moment.
Pedersen taking a breather.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Come on Pedersen - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Pedersen lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Pedersen trying to stall but Hansson improves his position.
Pedersen pushes off an throws an elbow but Hansson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Hansson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pedersen avoids it.
Hansson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pedersen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pedersen is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Hansson blocks the elbow strike.
Hansson tries to break the clinch but Pedersen is controlling the position.
Pedersen throws an elbow that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Pedersen is struggling to control the position.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jens Pedersen.
Pedersen misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Hansson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hansson.
Pedersen controls Hansson momentarily but Hansson frees himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pedersen throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Hansson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hansson is breathing heavily.

Hansson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pedersen is trying to control the position but Hansson postures up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hansson stands and throws Pedersen's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Pedersen is letting Hansson control him for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hendrik Hansson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hendrik Hansson's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pedersen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hansson's hands.
A jab lands there for Pedersen.
Hansson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


Hansson is rocked!
Hansson ducks into an uppercut from Pedersen and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jens Pedersen!
A victorious Jens Pedersen thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
