PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between J J Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Redshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redshaw has chosen ACDC - Skies on Fire as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, J J Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 3, fighting out of Sydney, Dexter Redshaw!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redshaw lands with a thumping leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Walker's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Redshaw drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Walker takes a knee to the side of the body.
Walker tries to stall but Redshaw uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Redshaw pushes Walker back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Redshaw tries to land knees in the clinch but Walker avoids the damage to the body.
Redshaw lands a hook to the side of the head.
Redshaw missing with knees to the body.

Redshaw has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Walker regains guard immediately.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Redshaw lands a couple of digs.
Redshaw with a nice head shot there.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Redshaw thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Redshaw lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Walker is pulling down on Redshaw's head to control his posture.
Redshaw postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Walker is rocked!
Redshaw scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Oh Walker is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Redshaw throwing strikes but missing.
Walker seems to have got his legs back now.
Redshaw with a nice head shot there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Redshaw throws an elbow that misses. Walker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Redshaw's guard. Nice move by Walker!

Redshaw looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Redshaw manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Walker taking shots to the head.

Redshaw is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Walker can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Walker wants to control but Redshaw is having none of it.
Redshaw is landing with some decent strikes but Walker is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Redshaw looking to finish Walker with some ground and pound. This is bad for Walker!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big strike lands for Redshaw! That's really hurt Walker and he's turned his back - Redshaw keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Redshaw jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dexter Redshaw!
