Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tero Elo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaakko Kilpinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tero Elo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tero Elo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jaakko Kilpinen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilpinen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Elo.
Kilpinen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kilpinen lands a nice leg kick that just misses Elo's sensitive parts.
Elo dives in and grabs Kilpinen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kilpinen pushes down on Elo's head and hops out.
Elo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kilpinen can pounce on him.
Elo tries for a takedown but Kilpinen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Kilpinen gets caught napping as Elo dives in and scores a takedown. Kilpinen manages to retain guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kilpinen looks to throw the jab but Elo is out of range.
Kilpinen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kilpinen cracks Elo with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
A left lands for Kilpinen.
Nice body kick from Kilpinen.
Elo fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tero Elo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Elo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kilpinen's waist but Kilpinen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Elo off to one side.
Jaakko Kilpinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kilpinen fakes the leg kick and cracks Elo in the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab from Elo misses.
Elo moves out of range of the body kick from Kilpinen.
Elo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Elo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kilpinen circles away.
Kilpinen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kilpinen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Elo under the eye.
Kilpinen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Elo.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tero Elo.
Elo has a takedown stuffed.
Elo slips under a jab from Kilpinen.

Kilpinen gets caught flat footed, as Elo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kilpinen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Elo is one step ahead there.
Elo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Kilpinen keeping moving, preventing Elo from controlling successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Elo passes easily into side control. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kilpinen sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kilpinen throws a leg kick but Elo sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Elo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Elo uses his free foot to push down on Kilpinen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kilpinen.

Elo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kilpinen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kilpinen and Elo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Elo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kilpinen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kilpinen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Elo's best efforts.

Kilpinen is defending against the submission attempts here by Elo.
We've been hearing good reports from Elo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Elo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kilpinen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Elo in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kilpinen tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Elo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tero Elo!
Post fight, Tero Elo stared into the camera and said 'Let the big, bad, black motherfucker go!'.
