Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vessey shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vessey shoots for a double leg takedown but Von Barva sprawls well. He's pushed Vessey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No luck for Vessey with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milton Vessey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vessey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Von Barva manages to avoid it.
Von Barva moves out of range as Vessey throws a body kick.
Von Barva slips a jab from Vessey.

Vessey misses with a takedown attempt - Von Barva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Von Barva's corner calls for a 1-2. Von Barva obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Von Barva.
Von Barva lands a head kick that stumbles Vessey and the fighters go to the mat.
Vessey is rocked!
Von Barva must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Von Barva gets to his feet and stands over Vessey, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Vessey felt that one! Von Barva unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Vessey from any more punishment!
