Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Paco Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez comes to the cage accompanied by La Puerta Negra. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lewis Hicks!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez connects with a body shot.
Paco Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hicks takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Mendez connects with a body shot.
Mendez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Lewis Hicks has been cut.
Mendez works Hicks's body with a nice hook.
Hicks takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Good shot there by Mendez.
Mendez lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hicks at a distance.
Hicks looks winded!
Mendez throws a good cross that connects.
A chopping leg kick lands by Mendez.
Mendez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Hicks walks into a straight right hand from Mendez.
Mendez is looking to wear down Hicks with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Mendez lands a nice looking body shot.
Mendez drops Hicks with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Hicks looks back up at him and smiles so Mendez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Hicks is rocked!
Mendez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hicks is still on wobbly legs! Can Mendez finish him?

and Mendez counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Hicks! He's just covering up as Mendez starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paco Mendez!
Paco Mendez was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
