Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donald Cerrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Sterrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cerrone's entrance music is Cowboy. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donald Cerrone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dominic Sterrey! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sterrey shoots in and drives through. Cerrone sprawls well. Cerrone lands with a right hand. Donald Cerrone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sterrey lands a glancing blow to the side of Cerrone's head. Sterrey dodges the punch combination from Cerrone.
A head kick misses from Cerrone. Sterrey tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cerrone defends well and Sterrey ends up having to push Cerrone into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sterrey has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Cerrone is trying to keep an underhook but Sterrey manages to get the takedown into half guard. Cerrone really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Cerrone keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Cerrone is looking to escape. Sterrey lands with a punch from half guard. Sterrey thows a huge punch but Cerrone dodges it nicely.
Sterrey throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sterrey wants to free his trapped foot but Cerrone is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sterrey sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cerrone defending well though. Sterrey trying to pass the guard but Cerrone defending well. Sterrey throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Sterrey works his way into side control. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sterrey working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Cerrone dodges the ground and pound from Sterrey.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sterrey scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Cerrone to see if he's OK. Cerrone takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Sterrey lands a decent elbow from side control. Sterrey tries to score with some ground and pound. Cerrone controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sterrey misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Sterrey is staying tight to Cerrone's torso, preventing him from escaping. Sterrey tries to score with some ground and pound. Cerrone controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Sterrey postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sterrey has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sterrey lands a nice forearm strike. Sterrey looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cerrone is avoiding damage well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sterrey working the ground and pound but Cerrone is defending the strikes. Cerrone managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sterrey.
Sterrey tries to move to mount but Cerrone blocks the move with his legs. Sterrey working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Sterrey sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cerrone is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Cerrone takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Sterrey grinds an elbow into Cerrone's temple.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sterrey working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Sterrey landing a few strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sterrey working the ground and pound. Sterrey lands some shots froms side control. Sterrey tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Sterrey tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cerrone's legs. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sterrey fails to land a wild elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dominic Sterrey dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Cerrone thumps Sterrey with a low kick. Cerrone lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Cerrone uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sterrey has time to react. Sterrey blocks a head kick by Cerrone.

Cerrone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cerrone slaps away a takedown attempt from Sterrey, before circling back to the center of the mat. Donald Cerrone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sterrey has a takedown stuffed. Cerrone throws a push kick but Sterrey slaps the foot to one side. Danga de danga de dang - Cerrone scores with a four punch combination! Cerrone lands a nice looking kick to the body. Sterrey takes a step back to recover. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sterrey crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cerrone - the referee stops the clock and Sterrey gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cerrone. Sterrey manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. This has been an exciting period of action! Cerrone scoring well with a low kick there.
Sterrey misses with a takedown attempt - Cerrone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Donald Cerrone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dominic Sterrey.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sterrey avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cerrone cracks Sterrey with a good jab. Cerrone lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sterrey takes a body punch but keeps moving. Sterrey moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Cerrone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sterrey looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cerrone swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cerrone thows a body shot but no joy. Cerrone swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sterrey counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Cerrone! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sterrey tries to advance to mount but Cerrone denies him.

Cerrone is rocked! Sterrey in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Cerrone looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Sterrey turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
