Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yoshihiro Takaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Eichstaedt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takaya's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Jimi Hendrix - All along the Watchtower. Eichstaedt has chosen Klaxons- Gravity Rainbow as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yoshihiro Takaya! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Eichstaedt! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takaya uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Eichstaedt.
Takaya takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Takaya looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Eichstaedt is fending him off so far but Takaya persists. Nope, Eichstaedt circles away and we're back to standing. A jab from Takaya misses. Takaya throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Eichstaedt's waist but Eichstaedt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Takaya off to one side. The fight stays on the outside here - Eichstaedt looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Takaya, as that shot connected.
Takaya darts in trying to clinch and Eichstaedt counters with a slapping leg kick. Takaya gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Eichstaedt counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoshihiro Takaya. That's going to take a lot out of him. Eichstaedt takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Takaya tries to close the distance and clinch but Eichstaedt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Eichstaedt misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Takaya clinches up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eichstaedt ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Eichstaedt no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Eichstaedt looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Takaya wants to control from the top but Eichstaedt keeps moving. Eichstaedt has his hands on Takaya's head, controlling the position. Eichstaedt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Takaya wants to pass the guard but Eichstaedt is keeping the position. Takaya working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Takaya sitting in guard, not really doing much. Eichstaedt working for a triangle but Takaya defends it easily.
Eichstaedt wants to control but Takaya passes easily into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eichstaedt is controlling Takaya's trapped leg to prevent Takaya from advancing to side control. Takaya wants to pass the guard but Eichstaedt is defending well. Takaya controlling the action here. Takaya throws a strike but Eichstaedt avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Eichstaedt keeping moving, preventing Takaya from controlling successfully. Takaya passes Eichstaedt's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Takaya lands a nice short elbow. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Takaya moves nicely into side control. Takaya working away. Eichstaedt gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Robert Eichstaedt will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Eichstaedt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Takaya as he jumps to the side. Eichstaedt throws a right hand that Takaya ducks under and follows up with a left that Takaya also avoids with ease. Takaya smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Takaya closes this distance looking for a takedown but Eichstaedt circles away. Eichstaedt throws a series of strikes that have Takaya backpedaling.
Takaya doesn't succeed with the takedown and Eichstaedt makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Takaya closes the distance but Eichstaedt moves to the side and Eichstaedt counters with a left and a right that stings Takaya. Takaya shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Eichstaedt's guard. Takaya controlling from the top position. Eichstaedt looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takaya stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Eichstaedt swivels though and keeps the full guard. Takaya stands up from guard. Let's bang! Eichstaedt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takaya as he avoids it easily. Eichstaedt is breathing heavily. Takaya closes the distance and clinches. Takaya can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoshihiro Takaya. That's going to take a lot out of him. Takaya wants a takedown but no success here.
Eichstaedt unloads a knee to the mid-section. Takaya lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Takaya goes for a takedown attempt but Eichstaedt pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Eichstaedt moves into the clinch successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takaya is trying to drag Eichstaedt to the mat but Eichstaedt just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Takaya has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Eichstaedt uses from the top position. Takaya lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Eichstaedt! Takaya controlling his opponent. Eichstaedt is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takaya postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Eichstaedt looks a forlorn figure.
Takaya tries to control but Eichstaedt wriggling away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takaya working away from the top, dropping strikes. Eichstaedt wants to try and get back to his feet. Takaya controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Takaya pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Takaya trying to control but he's not successful this time. Takaya is really struggling to control Eichstaedt but he's trying to hold on to the position. BOOM! Takaya connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Takaya controlling his opponent. Takaya tries to control but Eichstaedt wriggling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yoshihiro Takaya dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Eichstaedt is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Takaya gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Eichstaedt counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Eichstaedt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Takaya regains half guard. Eichstaedt trying to control the action but Takaya is working from the bottom. Takaya is looking to control Eichstaedt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Takaya avoid being mounted? Takaya tries to roll over but Eichstaedt keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eichstaedt seems to be looking for submissions.
Eichstaedt takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Takaya is refusing to be controlled, as Eichstaedt sits in half guard. Takaya slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Takaya wants to sweep here but Eichstaedt controlling him for the moment. Eichstaedt being controlled here momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Takaya manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Eichstaedt manages to get himself to full guard.
Takaya trying to control the position from guard on top but Eichstaedt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Takaya slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Takaya seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Eichstaedt for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Yoshihiro Takaya just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Takaya looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Well, if Takaya is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
